BRUSSELS: Kashmir Council European Union (EU) held a seminar in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, to make awareness among the professionals of the country with regard to Kashmir’s issue.
The seminar ‘Reflection on Kashmir’ was organised with the collaboration of ‘Doctors Association’ Belgium.
Addressing the seminar, Chairman Kashmir Council EU, Ali Raza Syed, said that the 62 years of time is a long period in the struggle of a nation as tears of Kashmiris dried up while watching unnamed graves, abductions and dead bodies. Now, the voices of cries from the Kashmir are being reached in all over the world.
It is clear fact that grave atrocities are being committed against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and every day is witnessed of killings of innocent Kashmiris including women and children. Youth particularly girls are being disappeared. Unnamed graves are being discovered but no one of the world powers supports the Kashmiris and neither any international organisation pays any attention on the cries.
He said, about 800,000 Indian forces are deployed in disputed Kashmir and they are involved in the atrocities against the innocent people of the held territory.
The forces have targeted the youth in the recent months, the peaceful boys from 14 to 16 years old were fired from close distance, and children were slaughtered in the presence of their parents.
The chairman requested the Belgium’s Doctors Association to get permission to visit the disputed Kashmir to observe the human rights violation.
He said, Kashmiris cannot trust the Indian authorities as recently an Indian government official claimed to 25 percent cut in the Indian forces in disputed Kashmir but an Indian military commander denied the claim.
Earlier, Dr Adnan Farooqi, Coordinator of the Doctors Association, delivered the introductory remarks and expressed grave concern over the critical situation in the territory.
A documentary film about the situation in disputed Kashmir was also shown to the participants.
Later on, the Chiarman Kashmir Council EU told media that the seminar was part of the ‘one million signatures’ awareness campaign in Europe and we would continue our struggle to make as much knowledge about the Kashmir issue in European countries.
