Islamabad: The videos of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer’s assassin, Malik Mumtaz Qadri, have become among the most sought after videos on Youtube during last few days.
More than a dozen of videos of Mumtaz Qadri have been uploaded in recent days, after he killed Governor Punjab on January 04, 2011. Majority of the videos have been captured through mobile handsets’ camera whereas few of them were recorded through TV channels camera.
The videos contained interviews of Mumtaz Qadri aired on different TV channels. The video of Mumtaz’s appearance in the court, during which he was accorded ‘heroic’ welcome by the lawyers, are being watched frequently. Mumtaz recitations of Naat are also being viewed by a large number of visitors.
These videos are being shared on Facebook and different other social networking sites. In the comments, the majority of the viewers have praised his act of killing and declared him Ghazi and Hero. Besides, many of the viewers have posted anti comments and condemned his act.
Besides, there are more than a dozen of videos which have been watched by more than 3,000 to 15,000 visitors separately.
Youtube is the fourth most popular site in Pakistan. Its popularity among the viewers has been increased particularly for watching uncensored, controversial, confidential footage and videos about political and social issues.
