Islamabad: Mumtaz Qadri, the alleged killer of Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, was produced in an Anti Terrorism Court especially set up for the trial of the accused here on Thursday.
On the occasion stringent security measures were taken by police and other law enforcement agencies to avert any untoward incident. No one including media persons were allowed to enter the premises of the especially established ATC court in Sector G-7 of the federal capital.
Earlier the accused could not be produced in ATC Rawalpidi due to security concern.
Police sources told The News Tribe that the accused could not be produced before the court due to security concerns. The commissioner, Islamabad, has issued a notification a unification to set up an special ATC in Islamabad for one day to able police to get physicial remand of the accused.
