Lahore: Authorities in Pakistan’s largest province Punjab have decided to re-scrutinise data of the police personnel assigned special duties with high profile personalities.
The step is being taken following the assassination of the Punjab governor by his guard on Tuesday.
In the provincial capital, 3,000 personnel of regular and Elite Police performed duties with high profile personalities and also deployed on the routes of VVIP movement.
SP VVIPs, Punjab police, Dr Haider Ashraf said that the security personnel performing duties with sensitive personalities would be scrutinised in the first phase while others would be monitored later.
He said that the process could not be completed in a day rather in would take some time, adding the step of re-scruitnising is amid at pointing out flaws in the system.
