Lucknow: A two-member Lakhnow bench of the Allahbad High Court has sought explanation from Indian government over its stance on two blockbuster Bollywood songs “Sheila ke jawani” and “Munni” after a woman filed a petition, demanding ban on both the songs calling them uncivilised and vulgar.
In her petition, Notan Thakur, prayed to the court to place a ban on film “Tees Maar Khan”, directed by Farah Khan, having song “Sheila ki jawani, as incidents of harassing girls have increased due to such songs in the country.
The bench has directed the government to submit its reply, clearing its position. The hearing was adjourned till January 10.
