Cape Town: Sachin Tendulkar scored his 51st test century on Tuesday against South Africa to give India a two-run lead in the third and final match of the series.
When India resumed their innings today, he was not out on 49. He persisted against fine South African bowling, which claimed Pujara and Dhoni cheaply soon after Gambhir failed to complete his century and Laxman was run out. Gambhir scored 93 with the help of 13 fours.
Tendulkar found a good partner in Harbhajan Singh who has polished his batting skills recently. They took India from 247 to 323. Harbhajan’s 40-run innings included two sixes and three fours. Morkel finally bowled Tendulkar when he had scored 146 including 17 fours and two sixes. South Africans finally wrapped up the Indian innings at 364.
