RAWALPINDI: Government has requested the army to mediate during last meeting held between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif in PM House, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Bajwa tweeted on Friday (today).

The interior minister Chaudhry Nisar and PM Nawaz Sharif had told National Assembly today that Army mediation was taken place on the request of PTI Chief Imran Khan and PAT head Dr Tahir Ul Qadri.
Earlier PAT chief Tahir Ul Qadri and PTI chief have rejected the government statement.
It is pertinent to mention here Opposition leader demanded the Army to clarify its position through statement of Inter Service Public Relations, ISPR.
Now Army has clarified that they started the mediation on the instructions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a meeting held yesterday in PM house.
