LAHORE: Punjab government has decided to launch its legal action against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri, filed a case over ‘inciting masses’.
Punjab government registered case against political rival Tahirul Qadri in Faisal Town police station on Wednesday over allegedly inciting masses.
According to sources, Tahirul Qadri’s statements will be considered as civil disobedience, whereas Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) also went against the PAT chief as it revealed Qadri-led three institutions found tax defaulters of more than Rs400 million.
FBR revealed its report after a thorough investigation of 2010-13 tax payments of three Islamic institutions including Minhaj-ul-Quran, Quran Society and Minhaj Welfare Society.
Tahirul Qadri faced notice of tax payment worth Rs150 million in first phase till August 8 to FBR, otherwise bank accounts will be closed in case of non-payment.
Moreover, a citizen, reportedly named as Khursheed who is resident of Mohni Road Lahore, filed terrorism case against the PAT chief over his inflammatory speech.
Police sources revealed that First Investigation Report (FIR) number of the case is 304, in which the applicant said that Tahirul Qadri has incited masses via his inflammatory speech.
