ISLAMABAD: The Chief Minister of Punjab province, Shahbaz Sharif has approved one thousand acres of land for construction of Imran Khan’s college in Mianwali despite political differences.
CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif decided allotment of significant area in Mianwali district to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s institution, Namal College.
Sharif faced severe criticism on the move from several prominent leaders of his political party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), local newspaper reported.
Reports claimed that high level officials from Punjab government and NUML Education Foundation (NEF) sources confirmed the newspaper for approval of land allotment while the awarding was made under 1894 act by the CM Punjab.
On the other hand, land owners also put criticism on CM Sharif over the awarding to the political rivals while the local leaders of PML-N Mianwali forwarded their notices expressing dissatisfaction.
Moreover, PML-N affiliated former members of houses Hameed Rokhri and Ali Noor Niazi mocked the Punjab government’s decision by terming it as illegal occupation on land.
