Melbourne: Men’s No. 1 Novak Djokovic and top- ranked woman Caroline Wozniacki will be the top seeds for next week’s Australian Open tennis tournament, organizers said.
Djokovic is followed by 2009 champion Rafael Nadal, four-time champion Roger Federer and Andy Murray, who has lost the past two finals at the Australian Open.
Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova is seeded No. 2 and is followed by Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova.
The year’s first Grand Slam event starts January 16 at Melbourne Park. The first-round draw is scheduled Jan. 13.
