Lahore: An official of US Consulate in Lahore killed three people on Thursday.
Two people were killed when theĀ US national opened fire on motorcycle riders and hit another with his car in an attempt to escape from the scene at Mazang Chowk.
Two people were injured when the US Consulate official open fire on them, who later succumbed to their injuries during treatment in Hospital.
Sources said that the foreigner opened fire on motorcyclists who received bullet wounds. They were rushed to Services Hospital Lahore for treatment, where they breathed their last during treatment.
The foreigner,Ā an official ofĀ US Consulate, Lahore , try to flee after firing in his vehicle. In his attempt to flee from the scene he hit many people with his vehicle .Ā One of the injured succumbed to his injuries at Hospital.
Following the incident, people took to street in Old Anarkaly area and held protest demonstration.
Later on, police chased the rashly driven vehicle and detained the foreigner.Ā According to police source, the foreigner had taken the plea that he opened fire in self defence, as the motorcyclists tried to loot him.Ā One of the people who were injured by the rashly driven vehicle of the foreigner, is said to be in critical condition.
Later, the US Embassy confirmed the man, identified as Raymond David, was a staffer of the US Consulate in Lahore.
