ISLAMABAD: Mumtaz Qadri, an Elite Force commando convicted of killing former Governor of Punjab Salman Taseer, was hanged to death and social media was buzzed with news of Mumtaz Qadri’s death, TheNewsTribe.com reported.
Execution Mumtaz Qadri jolted the social media but electronic media ignored the news of Qadri’s death. On the other hand, Pakistani media is giving maximum time to Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

“I can confirm that Qadri was hanged in Adialia jail early Monday morning,” senior local police official Sajjid Gondal told AFP.
Salman Taseer was killed in Kohsar’s Market back in January 4, 2011. Mumtaz Qadri said that he killed Taseer over what he called the politician’s vocal opposition to blasphemy laws of the country.
Qadri was sentenced to death over the killing of Salman Taseer in October 1, 2011 and his mercy was rejected by President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.
