Karachi: Former captain of Pakistan cricket team, Rashid Latif on Wednesday has revealed that Pakistan Cricked Board (PCB) has denied to make him as Chief Selector due to reservations of England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
According to reports, Latif said that during the meeting with Chief of PCB, Najam Sethi informed him that the ECB has showed reservation on the appointment of him as Chief Selector.
He said that ECB said that Rashid Latif was in a favor of Dhanish Kaneria, who got life banned due to allegedly involvement in match fixing in UK.
Latif said that Sethi told him that the ECB will be annoyed if he announces to make head of Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) as he categorically announced a support for Danish Kaneria.
Latif further said that the PCB and ECB behind the ban of Kaneria which spoiled the career of highest wicket taker leg-spinner for the national cricket team.
