GHARO, SINDH: A 50 Mega Watt wind power project is likely to be materialized soon as a United States corporation has shown interest in lending $95 million loan.
US Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) is under discussion with the Petroleum ministry to provide the loan for a 50MW wind power project at Gharo- Keti Bandar Wind Corridor.
The corridor is known for its energy friendly system, but lack of funding is prohibiting starting any project.
The tip about OPIC loan was revealed by a Pakistan trade mission led by Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khan Abbasi and US Ambassador Richard Olson to Houston.
The mission delegation was comprising of 30 private Pakistani companies‚ state-owned enterprises‚ and oil and gas officials who met the American energy sector to explore new avenues of growth in oil and gas as well as energy sector.
