ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has announced new date for NATO supply blockade in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
Ex. cricketer turned politician Imran Khan has announced that PTI will block NATO supplies on 23rd November. He said that due to law and order situation of the country, KPK government would revisit decision of blocking NATO supply on 20th November.
Earlier, PTI had finalised preparation of country-wide action plan for stopping NATO supply on November 20 while Imran Khan have to reach Peshawar on November 20 in order to lead the public gathering in Peshawar.
However, the recent announcement via a press meeting in Peshawar by the prominent leaders of PTI and coalition partners in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government including Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan (AJIP).
Provincial Secretary General of JI, Shabbir Ahmed Khan, told the media that the decision of anti-NATO supply protests is still firm but the parties placed a delay due to Rawalpindi incident.
‘New date of the sit-ins will be announced within next 24 hours.’ JI provincial leader said.
He also ensured that the delay will not be prolonged too much and new date would be proposed for one of the days in next week after November 20.
While answering to a question, JI’s Shabbir Ahmed Khan said, ‘We will contact all other political parties in order to invite them joining the protests; as we all are raising the voice of Pakistani nation.’
He also detailed the joint efforts of coalition political party; said that a 9-member committee will hold a meeting for finalising new date of sit-ins in Peshawar.
Khan clarified that the stoppage of drone strikes and foreign intervention in country is majorly the responsibility of federal government.
JI leader alleged that the nation had many expectations by the Prime Minister Main Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s visit to US but the results are null.
