ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology reportedly termed changing of gender, test tube babies and human cloning as illegal. He said that these things are not according to the teachings of Islam. Spying is illegal as well as not according to Islamic principles.
While talking to media, Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Maulana Muhammad Ali Khan Sherani said that cloning, test tube babies and change of gender are not according to the teachings of Islam.
The CII chairman however approved the practice of in vitro fertilization also known as test-tube babies provided its use is within restrictions of Islam.
The Daily Times reports, that the chairman further stated that it was un-Islamic for a person to undergo gender change provided he/she have dual capacities. He said that such things must be made possible on behalf of Shariah and Islamic injunctions.
The council also has reservations on milk bank and artificial milking can only be made possible under two situations. The chairman also said that spying is prohibited in Islam and termed secret ways of recordings illegal.
