Lahore:  Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar wholeheartedly accepted his flaws on Islamabad’s lapse of security on the issue of Malik Sikandar. He said that the person was not a threat to anyone except the police.
He further said that he was fond of the brave act by PPP leader Zamurd Khan but breaking the security could have endanger the lives of the people. He also showed his anger on policemen on letting the PPP leader go towards Malik Sikandar.
It is first time in the history that any Pakistani leader has admitted his mistake over the issue. He further said, “We didn’t take any action because I was being told that he wasn’t a threat to anyone. There was no record of Sikandar’s links with militant organizations.
“Since he wasn’t threat to public, thus I ordered not to shoot. It was easier to shoot him down but he was with his wife and children and we didn’t take any action for that purpose”.
He further said that the demands made by Sikandar included that he must be given access to the embassy of Dubai and release of his son captured there. Chaudhry Nisar said that Sikandar hid his weapons in his children’s bag and he was a drug addict.
PPP’s Zamurd Khan and MQM’s Nabeel Gabol did breach the security by going towards the criminal. He added that Sikandar was 2 km away from Red Zone so he didn’t cross the security zone.
