LONDON: On May 20 the popular social networking site Pinterest announced updates to its service.
The announcement, made via Pinterest’s blog, confirmed that the service has worked with what it defines as “popular websites” to provide more information on pins.
So, for example, if a user of the site pinned a recipe it would provide additional information on cooking times or serving suggestions, among other things, while product pins for items such as clothing, for example, will be updated daily with information such as where the product can be purchased and how much it costs.
For a more complete list of pins see Blog of Pinterest.
The other change to the service that Pinterest has introduced is the ability to “pin” from mobile apps with the introduction of a “Pin It” button. Apps that now include the “Pin It” button include Brit+Co, Jetsetter, TED and The North Face. A full list of apps that now feature the “Pin It” button can be found via the Pinterest blog.
