ISLAMABAD: Fresh irregularity has been observed on eve of general polls in the country as the Election Commission ‘could not find 120 important nomination papers’, here on Wednesday (today).
The discrepancy was evident in a statement of the ECP, which said that 27,075 have so far been received from the candidates. It had earlier said the total number of these documents totals to 24,094 and later changed its stance, saying these were 27,204.
Since the filing of nomination papers has been extremely heightened, the fresh development can give birth to a serious complication in the process.
Meanwhile, senior leaders of different political parties are facing stern trial in submitting their papers as their documents are being challenged n continuous basis.
