Nairobi: At least one policeman was injured after two blasts ripped through a residential area in Nairobi, capital of Kenya, here on Friday.
According to media reports, the blasts struck the Eastleigh residential district, near the city’s business district, late on Friday. Police sources said the area targeted had a predominantly Somali population.
Earlier, the series of attacks in Nairobi and Mombasa were blamed on Somali militants, in retaliation for Kenya’s decision to send troops into Somalia to pursue militant group, Al-Shahbab.
The Kenyan forces along with Somali troops recently captured a key town in the war-torn country, Kismayo, held by Shabab militants.
