ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain addressed the joint session of the country’s upper and lower house today in parliament house in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.
President Mamnoon Hussain is addressing the joint session of Pakistan’s senate and national assembly at the commencement of new parliamentary year on Monday (today).
Despite announcement of opposite powers’ in upper and lower houses boycott as protest against the federal government over differences on various national issues, the joint session started with participation of the country’s leadership of all prominent institutions.
Hussain urged the parliamentarians to complete the nation’s expectations at its maximum via working prominent for development in each sector.
He briefed the various measures of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government in many fields including power crisis, economic development, planning and terrorism.
The joint session was attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, governors, chief ministers of four provinces, Azad Jammu Kashmir’s President and PM, military chiefs and various diplomats.
