Karachi: Chem & Dye Tech exp has been concluded at Expo Centre Karachi, the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan after gaining lots of investors’ and stakeholders’ attention on the potential sector of emerging sector.
Zubair Tufail, one of the renowned industrialists, said the government and private sector should come forward to explore the potential of chemical and dye sector, which can not only attract FDI but it will also generate employment to the unemployed people.
He said the government should resolve energy crisis at any cost to protect the industry from closure though the business situation has already been tough for industrialists to continue their production in the particularly sector.
Tufial added the government will gear up the production of the sector through duty incentives on machineries and its raw material.
Haroon Agar, an industrialist on the occasion, said the exports of chemicals and dyes attract 2 billion dollar every year with its quality products to many countries. However its exports have reached $ 2.5 billion last year which showed its decline in production and shipment to various countries.
He said the government should protect the industry on war footing basis in order to ensure the thousands of employment and foreign exchange earnings of the country.
