Lahore: A private chartered plane brought back 174 Pakistanis on Monday night from Libya owing to clashes there between security forces and anti-government protesters.
Pakistanis who reached Lahore criticised the government of Pakistan and its embassy in Libya, saying they did not act swiftly enough to help them. They said that Libyan police hit them severely and all their belongings had been snatched at gunpoint, The News Tribe correspondent reported.
They said the private companies where they were working provided them food and bore their ticket expenses. They said that there are more than 8000 Pakistanis including several families stranded in Libya.
They said that 181 more Pakistanis would reach Pakistan by another private plane very soon.
