Bahawalpur: Prime Minister Yusaf Raza Gilani has said that the government would handle the Raymond Davis case keeping in view the larger interest of the country.
Speaking to media representatives in Bahawalpur he rejected Opposition’s claims that the fake documents had been prepared for Raymond Davis and said that the government did not need to do so.
Replying a query Gilani said the committees of Pakistan Peoples Party and PML-N would have a detailed exchange of views on the implementation of PML-N agenda.
He said the government was following the reconciliatory politics and believed that a single party could not take the nation out of crises without the support of all political parties.
About the status of former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in PPP, Gilani said, “He [Qureshi] is in the party, will be in it and will not do anything against the party.”
Gilani said he himself was also holding the portfolio of foreign minister till the naming of new minister.
Gilani avoided replying question regarding fiery statement of Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza..
He added that another province could be created in Punjab if that was what the public wanted.
The premier said making Bahawalpur a province was a constitutional issue and that one or even two provinces could be created in Punjab if that was what the people wanted.
