Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered the government not to extradite Raymond Davis, who killed two Pakistani youths, as the court proceedings completed.
LHC Chief Justice Ejaz Chaudhry was hearing different petitions filed against David’ diplomatic immunity.
Justice Chaudhry directed the government not to hand Raymond Davis or what ever his name over to US as his name had been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The judge remarked that the Foreign Office has not clarified that if the accused was diplomat or not.
The FO prayed that three-week time be granted for submitting its reply as Davis was diplomat or not.
The petitioner contended that Davis was working under cover in the country and his real name was not Raymond Davis.
The court observed that verdict of Davis case was linked to immunity and court could do nothing until the FO decides his status.
No lawyer was appeared before the LHC to defend Davis.
Justice Chaudhry granted three-week time to the FO for submitting its reply into the case.
The hearing was adjourned till March 14.
