Allama Iqbal Showed a New Path to the Ummah: Iranian President

Lahore: The Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, stated that Palestinians will emerge victorious against Israeli occupying forces, and praised Pakistan’s stance in the conflict.

Speaking during his visit to the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore, President Raisi expressed his support for the Palestinian cause, asserting that the Israelis who oppress Palestinians will face defeat.

The President remarked, “Allama Iqbal showed a new path to the Muslim Ummah,” adding that Iqbal’s poetry could bridge relations between Iran and Pakistan. He further noted the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran and expressed hope that these ties would strengthen over time.

It is worth noting that Pakistan and Iran have committed to expanding their bilateral trade to ten billion dollars over the next five years. This agreement was reached during a meeting in Islamabad between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

President Raisi mentioned feeling at home during his visit to Pakistan. Upon his arrival in Lahore, he was welcomed at the airport by Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, who introduced him to her cabinet members.

During his stay, the Iranian President is scheduled to meet the local business community, visit Minar-e-Pakistan, and Badshahi Mosque where he will offer prayers. Later in the day, he is set to travel to Karachi, where he is expected to stay overnight.

Karachi Ready to Welcome Iranian President

Karachi: Pakistan’s commercial capital is ready to welcome Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is on a three-day visit to the country. The city has seen a flood of banners, posters, and bunting welcoming the Iranian president.

Banners bearing welcome messages from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are notably hung along Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Due to the arrival of the Iranian president and his delegation, the Commissioner of Karachi has declared a public holiday throughout the city today. “It’s good that Pakistan and Iran are getting closer, and I particularly appreciate the Iranian president’s desire to increase bilateral trade to up to 10 billion dollars.”

All private and government offices and educational institutions are closed in the Karachi Division. Many city administrators were seen busy blocking roads for security purposes ahead of Raisi’s visit.
