Iceland: Icelandic-style yogurt company Siggi’s Dairy is enticing individuals to break free from smartphone addiction by presenting a $10,000 reward to those successfully completing a 30-day no-phone challenge.
According to international media, Siggi’s Dairy, involved in dairy product manufacturing, has announced a reward of $10,000 for individuals who, as part of their digital detox program, give up using mobile phones for one month. The company states that this offer is for 10 individuals who choose to leave their phones for a month.
The company mentioned in a statement on its website that it challenges people to leave their smartphones, believing in the power of living a simple life with minimal distractions.
“We believe in the power of living a simpler life with fewer distractions. One of the biggest distractions in our lives today is our phone. In fact, the average person spends 5.4 hours on their phones each day!
“That’s why we’re challenging YOU to give up your smartphone for a month as part of the siggi’s digital detox program.”, the statement reads.
To qualify for the reward, selected participants will securely store their smartphones in a provided box and live without it for a month.
The challenge is open to individuals aged 18 or older, with submissions accepted until January 31. Ten potential winners will be announced on February 15. Upon successfully completing the challenge, the winners will not only be awarded a cash prize of $10,000 but also a smartphone lockbox, a flip phone, a one-month prepaid sim card for the flip phone, and a free three-month supply of Siggi’s yogurt.
