San Francisco: Meta-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp, is set to make chat management more efficient with its latest feature, “chat filter.” According to reports from WABetaInfo, this update aims to streamline the administration and organization of conversations for users.
WhatsApp, used by millions worldwide for messaging, includes many users who possess a substantial record (data) of messages, particularly those that are crucial to them. For such users, finding an old specific, and important message can be a challenging task. To mitigate this difficulty, the company has introduced a new feature, “Chat Filter”.
The feature introduces a new row at the top of the chat list screen, offering important filters such as “Unread,” “Contacts,” and “Groups.” These filters empower users to categorize and access specific chat types swiftly. The goal is to simplify the process of handling and arranging conversations on WhatsApp Web.
Currently, the “chat filter” feature is being released for beta testers on WhatsApp Web who are using the updated version of the platform. The new addition is designed to enhance the overall user experience by introducing an organized approach to managing chats.
To use this feature, users need to open the application and go to the chat window where they want to find a specific message. In the chat window, go to the search option, after which a calendar will appear for the user. Clicking on the calendar allows users to select their desired date.
WhatsApp continues to evolve its features to provide users with more control and convenience in managing their messaging experience.
