The federal government has formally requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to approve a Rs 1.72 per unit hike in the tariff for KE consumers.
This increase is sought in the context of the second and third quarterly adjustments for the previous fiscal year.
According to sources, the breakdown includes a Rs 0.25 per unit rise for the January-March 2023 adjustment and an additional Rs 0.47 per unit increase for the October-December 2022 adjustment.
NEPRA is scheduled to conduct a hearing on the request on December 20.
