ICC Cricket Rules Undergo Significant Amendments

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made important amendments to the global cricket laws, equalizing the match fees for men and women officials.

In women’s cricket matches, the men and women officials will now receive the same match fee as in men’s cricket. In Twenty20 and One Day Internationals, a stopwatch will be used during overs, and a penalty of five runs will be imposed for taking more than 60 seconds between two overs.

The ICC has approved changes to pitch and outfield monitoring regulations. These changes include simplifying the criteria for pitch assessment and raising the threshold for a venue to lose its international status from five to six demerit points over five years.
