Karachi Becomes the Most Polluted City in the World

Karachi: The situation of air pollution in the city of Quaid is worsening, making Karachi the most polluted city in the world today.

According to experts, the Air Quality Index (AQI) reached a record high of 239 this Saturday, while the slow movement of winds from the northwest continues in the city. The increased humidity in the air and the rise in air pollution have led to the persistence of smog.

According to the Air Quality Index, after Karachi, New Delhi ranks second in the worst air pollution conditions, with an AQI of 196. Similarly, Lahore ranks third, with an AQI of 191.

It is noteworthy that to control air pollution, the provincial government of Punjab has once again implemented a smart lockdown in 10 districts, including the provincial capital Lahore. During this period, educational institutions remained closed, and the timings for commuting and markets were restricted.
