Islamabad: After criticism was directed at Babar Azam following Pakistan’s subpar performance in the ICC World Cup, former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev has come forward to support the Pakistani captain.
Speaking on a YouTube podcast, former Indian captain Kapil Dev emphasized that deciding based solely on the current performance would be unfair. He pointed out Babar Azam’s previous successes, mentioning that just six months ago, he led the Pakistani team to the top position in the ICC One Day International rankings. Kapil Dev argued that evaluating Babar Azam’s captaincy solely on the present circumstances is unjust.
He stated that when someone gets out for a duck, 99% of people want them to be dropped. However, if an ordinary player comes and makes a splendid century, they are hailed as a superstar. Therefore, he urged not to judge based solely on current performance.
