Karachi: Electricity has become more expensive for consumers in the city. According to a report by private TV channels, the federal government has approved the request to increase electricity prices in Nepra. This increase was made for the first three-month adjustment of the financial year 2022-23.
According to sources, following the federal government’s notification, a recent increase in electricity prices will be implemented, which will require Karachi electricity consumers to make additional payments in the bills for October and November.
According to the increments, electricity will become more expensive for consumers with 300 units, costing them an additional Rs. 1.48 per unit, and for consumers with 301 units or more, the price will increase by Rs. 3.21 per unit. For consumers with a load of more than 5 kilowatts, electricity price will go up by Rs. 4.45 per unit, while electric vehicle charging stations will charge Rs. 4.45 per unit.
