Lahore: The captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam expressed his team’s ambitious goal of winning the 2023 World Cup, emphasizing that they aren’t satisfied with just a top-four finish. During a pre-departure conference in Lahore, Babar highlighted that winning is their primary objective, and the top four is merely a small goal. He stated that during the Asia Cup, they were at the top in two matches, the same boys who are performing and are the reason for our number one position in the ICC rankings.
The captain of the national cricket team said that tonight they are leaving for the World Cup, “as a team, our morale is high, and we are confident. Our efforts will be to bring back the World Cup home, and I request you all to pray for us”.
Babar Azam said that as a player, it is a matter of pride to represent Pakistan in the World Cup. Despite not having played in India before, the team doesn’t feel burdened by pressure, as they’ve researched the conditions and are proud to represent Pakistan at the World Cup.
He said that in 2019, I played as a player, but this time I am leading the team, which is a matter of pride for me. We will try to play well as a team and bring the World Cup home.
