Islamabad: Power distribution companies want to charge Rs1.83 per unit as Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA) in October bills for electricity consumed in August
For the month of July, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) had set the FCA at Rs1.46 per unit and included it in the bills to be paid this month (September).
The power agency has requested a price increase of Rs1.82 per unit for electricity, and this application has been submitted for the monthly fuel adjustment in August. NEPRA will review and consider this application on September 27th.
Earlier, Power Division Secretary Rashid Langrial had said on Monday that the paying capacity has doubled after the dollar exchange rate shot up from Rs100 to Rs300, resulting in skyrocketing electricity rates for consumers.
