Islamabad: Pakistan’s pace spearhead, Shaheen Afridi, has put to rest speculations of a rift with skipper Babar Azam by sharing a picture of them together on social media.
Shaheen Afridi uploaded a photo with Babar Azam on platform X, captioning it “family” alongside a heart emoji. This comes after reports emerged last week, suggesting that the two cricket stars had engaged in arguments following Pakistan’s loss to Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup.

However, the friendly picture indicates that the duo remains on good terms as Pakistan gears up for the upcoming World Cup in India.
The national selection committee, led by Inzamam-ul-Haq, recently concluded consultations with Azam regarding the 15-member squad. An official announcement on the final team is expected soon.
Pakistan aims to move on from its Asia Cup debacle and deliver a strong performance in the World Cup under Azam’s captaincy. Having Afridi back to full fitness will boost their chances, especially with his lethal left-arm fast bowling.
