Star Javelin Thrower Arshad Nadeem Qualifies for Paris Olympics 2024

Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics and advanced to the final of the javelin event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships. He achieved this by throwing a season-best of 86.79 meters in his third attempt during the qualifying round.

With this performance, Nadeem also booked a place in the javelin final to be held on August 27. The 26-year-old has seen immense success after his fifth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics last year, which brought him fame and changed his personality.

Since then, he set a Commonwealth Games record throw of 90.18 meters at Birmingham 2022. He also had elbow and knee surgeries in London earlier this year. After recovering, Nadeem competed at the National Games in Quetta in May, winning gold despite not being fully fit. A knee injury during the event forced him to miss the recent Asian Championships.
