Birmingham: In the IBSA World Games, Pakistan’s visually impaired cricket team defeated India by 18 runs in Birmingham. After winning the toss, the Indian team decided to bowl first. In the first innings, the Pakistan team was able to score 187 runs in their 20 overs, at the loss of eight wickets with notable performances from Muhammad Salman, Nisar Ali, and Badar Munir. India’s Ajay Kumar Reddy took four wickets.
During India’s batting innings, they required 38 runs from the last three overs. Matiullah’s exceptional 18th over for Pakistan played a decisive role in this outcome and the Indian team went downhill from there, ultimately finishing at 169 runs with seven wickets down. As a result, the Pakistani visually impaired team won the match by 18 runs. The leading run-scorers for India were Sunil Ramesh and Durga Rao Tompaki. Pakistan is now set to take on Bangladesh in their upcoming match in the tournament.
