Hafiz Naeemur Rahman Leads Protest Against Disrespect of the Holy Quran

Karachi: Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, stated that the entire Muslim ummah is united and unanimous in their respect and love for the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed his concern that in Sweden, under government supervision and protection of the Swedish police the Quran was desecrated, and the sacred book was subjected to blasphemy, which is extremely regrettable, shameful, and condemnable. Bearing in mind that the wicked act took place while Muslims were celebrating Eid al-Adha, it has deeply hurt the entire ummah. The Muslim ummah remains united and steadfast in their belief and love for the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam and the West will never succeed.

He emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Pakistani government not only to pass resolutions but also to raise an effective voice at the international level. The OIC should also play its role on the international stage, and it should be included in the United Nations Charter that social and economic boycott will be imposed on those who attack the beliefs of more than a billion Muslims. We must condemn these reprehensible actions and strengthen our connection with the Quran and the Messenger of Allah. It is necessary to strengthen the unity and solidarity of the ummah. We must strive with full determination to establish the system of the noble Prophet Muhammad and the Quran. He added that it is essential to bring to power leaders who can give a befitting response to those who blaspheme the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad.

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a protest demonstration against the blasphemy of the Quran at the Jama Masjid Baitul Mukarram in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Secretary-General Monem Zafar Khan and Deputy Amir Karachi Muslim Parvez also addressed the gathering. On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Karachi Dr. Osama Razi, Burjis Ahmed, Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Abdul Wahab, Deputy Secretary Karachi, Yunus Barai, Jamaat-e-Islami Minority Wing President Sohan advocate, Secretary of Information Zahid Askari, and others were also present.

The participants of the demonstration raised banners and placards in their hands. The slogans on them read, “We strongly condemn the blasphemy of the Holy Quran under government supervision in Sweden,” “Quran is our honor, no compromise on Quran, stop burning the Quran.” The participants also passionately chanted slogans against the heinous act carried out under Swedish government supervision. The slogans included “Allahu Akbar,” “Help, O God,” “Leader and Guide Mustafa Mustafa,” “Seal of the Prophets, Mustafa Mustafa,” and others. The participants also held copies of the Holy Quran symbolically in their hands.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman further stated that due to Islamophobia in the West and Europe, the desecration of the Holy Quran occurs at times, and at other times, the dignity of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is attacked. The Muslim ummah has faced such challenges in the past as well. The responsibility lies on the shoulders of the Muslim ummah to strengthen its unity and work towards bringing leaders to power who can protect the sanctity of the Quran and the honorable Prophet Muhammad and give a befitting response to those who commit blasphemy.
