ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that King Salman dismissed Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir from his post over the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
In an interview with TRT Arabi, Erdogan claimed that Jubeir lied about Khashoggi’s case and then was dismissed by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz.
He added that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman lied about the case. He said that some of the perpetrators might have been gotten rid of some of the assassin in a traffic accident.
Erdogan said that the Washington Post writer was killed by a team of 22 people, including the 15 persons who entered Turkey to execute the crime.
He added that Turkey has a recorded tape of the crime.
The Turkish President urged the Saudi authorities to fully disclose the details of the crime.
Earlier on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused Western countries of covering up for the killers of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in return for arms deals with Saudi Arabia.
