Maulana Tariq Jameel undergoes angioplasty at Lahore hospital

LAHORE: Renowned preacher and religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel underwent angioplasty on Tuesday night at a local hospital in Lahore.

The religious scholar was hospitalised after complaining of chest pain.

Doctors treating the scholar said that they had successfully implanted a stent into the religious scholar’s clogged artery to clear the blockage.

The stent will hold the artery open and allow a free flow of blood.

Maulana has been advised complete rest for some time.

A day earlier, the maulana was admitted to a hospital after complaining of chest pain. He was then shifted to a private hospital in Lahore’s Johar Town after suffering from angina.
