Tea Day 1: Pakistan take solid start of first Test

DUBAI: Both Pakistani openers Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali have given a solid start to the hosts in the first Test of the three-match series as Pakistan reaches to 81/0 at the Tea Day 1 at Dubai Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the historic 400th Test.

The pink ball did not swing or seam much in the first session, given that Windies bowlers were not full enough to get it swing.

Sami Aslam faced initial problems but settled down in the end to extend first wicket partnership to 81 till the tea. Azhar Ali looked more solid comparatively.

This is Pakistan’s best opening stand in nearly a year. We will be back at 6pm for the second session.
