Another youth dies as IOK shutdown continues

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir (IOK), a youth succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Srinagar, today, raising the number of civilians killed by Indian forces during the ongoing Kashmir Intifada to 108, KMS reported.

The youth, Muzaffar Ahmad Pandit, a resident of Check-e-Kawoosa in Narbal area of Budgam district, was critically injured after he was hit by pellets on September 14.

Reports said that Muzaffar Ahmad developed some complications last night and was rushed to Sub-Divisional Hospital Magam where from he was referred to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar.

He underwent three surgeries in his left eye, today morning, however, he succumbed.

With this killing, the death toll in the ongoing Kashmir Intifada has risen to 108. The Intifada was triggered by the extra-judicial murder of the top commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Burhan Wani, by Indian troops on July 8, this year.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown continued in the Kashmir Valley on the 85th consecutive day, today, to protest against the killing of civilians by Indian police and troops.
