LAHORE: Former UAE head coach Aqib Javed has once again entered in the race of Pakistan coaching, but this time for bowling coach slot.
Aqib, who was considered a strong candidate for Pakistan coaching, refused to submit an application for the slot, citing PCB’s fondness towards a foreign coach.
He then refused to continue as UAE head coach and joined Pakistan Super League (PSL) Franchise Lahore Qalandars as a consultant.
Aqib was also considered as favourite for Bangladesh bowling coach vacancy, but he turned down the offer as well.
Now, after a two-month silence, Aqib’s name is echoing in PCB lodges once again, but this time for bowling coach job.
Besides him, current National Cricket Academy (NCA) coach and former spin consultant, Mushtaq Ahmed is also a strong candidate for the vacancy.
