LONDON: Intel just announced the first 10-core processor for desktop CPU, the i7-6950X Extreme Edition on May 31st, at Computex. Before that we had 10-core Xeon processors for servers since 2011.
It used to be time when people asked about how much megahertz processor you have got? but the megahertz race ends and the new race of cores starts.
The Core i7 Extreme will run at 3GHz with 25MB of cache and support DDR4 RAM. The processors is coming with Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 that wil boost the processing speed up to 3.5GHz. The processor is going to cost around $1, 723.
Intel has also introduced it’s Intel SSD 750 Series of high performance solid state drives, multiple choice of GFX cards and Thunderbolt 3 technology that can not only share data with lightning fast data but can deliver a unbelievable vivid 4K display output. It’s designed for not multi-tasking but mega-tasking.
The processor has been built keeping the gamers in focus, with rapidly growing gamers communities more than 1.3billion people worldwide. Intel says, gaming in isn’t just about playing – gamers are live streaming, posting highlights online and extending their fan bases.
Statistics are telling the whole new story regarding entertainment that eSports is the fastest growing part of entertainment sector. Last year at Intel’s premiere worldwide gaming competition 100,000 people came and another 1 million watched it online. Intel finally stated that their new processors is a whole package for gaming enthusiast.
