Three laborers shot down in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: As many as three people were killed in the Madina Town area of Faisalabad in Saturday’s wee hours.

The killing comes a day before the nation marks Labour Day, commemorated on May 1 worldwide.

Police identified the slain labourers as Akram, Ghulam Asghar and Mushtaq.

The murder took place within the limits of Madina Town police station. According to police, the deceased labourers were hacked to death with a sharp object while they were asleep near Kashmir Bridge.

Family members of the deceased said they had no enmities with anyone. “We just want justice,” slain labourer Akram’s sister told Samaa TV.

“It does not appear to be an incident of robbery,” a police official said.

The remains of the slain labourers have been sent to Allied Hospital for postmortem. Further investigation is underway.
