LAHORE: Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council Chairman Najam Sethi has expressed his desire to bring in Kashmir team as the sixth outfit in second edition of PSL which will be played in February next year in UAE.
Sethi Tweeted Saturday, “My dream is to launch 6th Kashmir team in PSL this year. Hope our five franchisee partners will support me in this initiative.”

Peshawar Zalmi’s onwer javed Afridi welcomed the idea and said he would recommend Kashmir team if asked from PSL management.

The inaugural edition included five teams Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, but Sethi had stated that more teams will be added to the league from coming editions.
Islamabad United went onto become first champions of PSL after beating Quetta Gladiators in the final.
The Pakistan Super League was a huge success not just financially but also in terms of promoting a soft image of Pakistan in front of the entire world. A team from Kashmir would be the ideal addition to PSL as the a lot of talent exist in that area but they lack an ideal forum to express themselves and nurture their skills.
It may be noted that many cricket fans from Pakistan have raised their voice in support of a team from Kashmir to be included in PSL and this news will be a breath of fresh air for the cricket thirsty nation.
