Marriott Islamabad under threat: US warning to citizens

ISLAMABAD: An unknown threat posses danger to Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, according to the United States of America State Department notification to US citizens in Pakistan.

The notification has warned US citizens to steer clear of the Marriott hotel and its surroundings in the capital due to an unknown threat from their sources.

The information is however unconfirmed at the moment but the state department has issued the notification to ensure safety of their citizens.

Rangers and Police officials have declared the area clear after several hours of security check at the hotel and in its surrounding areas however, U.S state department has advised US citizens in Paksitan to ensure that their friends and family know their whereabouts at all times.

Notification was issued days after a rumor of bomb near a five start hotel in Islamabad. Marriott hotel has been targeted by terrorist in the past.
