ISLAMABAD: Tough Run mudder race is an obstacle mud race event designed by British Special Forces as training exercise but fitness and adventure lovers brought it to the commercial arena.
Tough mudder race has now come to Pakistan under the title, “Tough Run Pakistan” and the first event would be held during May in Islamabad.
Tough Run Challenges
Ice Pass – contestants have to pass through a container filled with ice maintaining a below zero temperature.
Mud Mountains – contestants go through muddy waters to get to their next obstacle.
Crocodile Crawl – next obstacle involves crawling under a trap of barb wires similar to the military crawl, in the mud!
Berlin Wall – then comes the 8-10 feet high wooden wall for the team to climb and cross.
Spider Wall – a 15 feet high inclined wall contests climb with the help of hooks.
Mud Grave – mud and water filled deep channels with a cage on top to help you hold and drag through through the channel.
K2 Conquers – a slippery curved 15 feet high slop to put your endurance to test.
Tandor – things get sizzling with a little fire you have to jump through.
Tipping Point – walk on a see saw to get to your next obstacle without slipping of course.
Pharaoh Slave – team work is the key, flip a heavy tire or lift it with your team.
Pharaoh Slave – this is simple, carry heavy buckets and walk 160 meters.
Spider Web – the name says it all, a rope trap before you pass through small spaces.
Money Wonki – using your upper body strength hop from ring to ring pass over the water without falling.
Earth Quick Bridge – a bridge that shakes more than the ground in earth quake, balance and don’t fall in the month.
Tunnel Crawl – crawl through the tunnel to get to the last obstacle if they are in this order.
Slip and Slide – the final obstacle is a slippery muddy long slop you have to come sliding down.
Tough Run Pakistan is a team event however it is unclear at this point if individuals can participate alone. If you are in Islamabad and planning to test your fitness at the Tough Mudder or Tough Run, as they are now calling it in Pakistan, be ready to face these challenges.
