ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan concluding a petition here in Islamabad directed Sindh Government to remove Director General, Sindh Building Control Authority Agha Masood on eligibility grounds.
Supreme Court ordered Sindh Government to appoint a new DG on merit. Justice Qazi Faiz Essa also directed Sindh Government to re-visit Agha Masood’s promotion decision from Grade 19 to 20 and make sure that he is promoted on merit.
Lawyer Iftikhar Qaimkhani argued in the court that a Grade 21 officer is present in the organization however the said officer was ignored and Grade 20 officer Agha Masood was appointed Director General of SBCA. “Agha Masood is in-eligble to work as DG in the presence of a Grade 21 office,” added Qaimkhani.
Justice Essa ordered that Agha Masood should be removed from the post immediately and Sindh Government should appoint an eligible Director.
